Two minutes with the calculator tells you how many senior hours a week are going on admin, and what they cost. The rest of this page answers the questions Australian owners ask us privately. Then 30 minutes with a consultant, who will tell you whether offshore is a fit for your business or whether it isn't.

44% of the businesses we've placed people with came back for a second person.

This is probably a fit if

  • You run an Australian business.

  • A senior person is losing five or more hours a week to admin, data entry or chasing.

  • You would rather fix that than hire another local administrator.

This is probably not a fit if

  • You want to reduce local headcount. That's a different conversation and we're not the right people for it.

  • The work needs someone in the room.

If the headline alternate "Expensive people shouldn't be doing $25-an-hour work" is used anywhere on the AU page, it becomes "$27-an-hour work". $25 is under the Australian minimum wage.

211 people placed with 71 New Zealand and Australian businesses since 2019.

44% of the businesses we've placed people with came back for a second person.

If a placement ends we recruit the replacement free inside 180 days. It typically takes 27 days from your approval to their first day.

No minimum term. One week's notice in your first six months.

Start with the number.

Pick the roles, tick the tasks they actually do, and you'll get the hours and what they cost you a year. About two minutes, six questions. We don't keep anything unless you ask us to email it to you.

What your number does and doesn't tell you

The calculator runs on benchmarks. It tells you where businesses like yours lose time. It can't see your systems, your people, or the way work actually moves through your business, and that's where the real answer sits.

There are two ways to use it.

Build Capacity

Hiring here means months of searching, rising salaries and a shrinking pool of people who want the routine work at all. An Admin Professional adds capacity faster than local hiring can, and your senior people get their week back for the work that grows the business. Nobody is being replaced.

Control Cost

The same hours cost materially less. Less than AU$15 an hour, including all fees, for the most common support roles in marketing, finance, accounts, admin, customer service and sales. No savings percentage is quoted on this page. The figure depends on the role, so the arithmetic for your business is worked through in the call.

Salaried, not an ad-hoc hourly rate. For comparison only.

Which of those two matters more is different for every business, and it's the first thing we work out in the call. The savings pay for it; the capacity is the prize.

The most common questions

The calculator tells you how much time your team could get back. It doesn't answer the questions you're actually sitting with. Here are the straight answers, including the places where this isn't a fit.

Are the people any good?

"Cheap means junior."

The difference is geography, not seniority. A Manila salary buys a level of experience a Sydney or Melbourne salary doesn't, and that is the whole arbitrage. Everyone we place goes through eight steps before they start with you: CV screen, pre-screening assessment, your shortlist, an HR interview, a technical test where the role needs one, your interview, reference checks with previous employers, and pre-employment requirements including our AI Certification. This year we dropped two shortlisted candidates at the reference stage on what their referees told us. If it still isn't right inside 180 days, we recruit the replacement free.

"They won't understand our systems or our industry."

Nobody does on day one, including a local hire. What's different is that the onboarding is documented and run for you. You get a named Customer Success Manager in Auckland working your hours, a monthly report and monthly performance check-ins. The first tasks to move are the ones already systemised, which is why the call starts by finding them.

"Communication, English, time zones."

Your hours are their hours. Standard Philippines shifts cover 6.30am to 7.30pm in Sydney and Melbourne during daylight saving (5.30am to 6.30pm from April), 5.30am to 6.30pm in Brisbane all year, half an hour earlier in Adelaide, and Perth runs on the same clock as Manila.

Full Sydney-hours cover in summer means a 5am start in Manila. It's real, our people do it, and we'd rather say that plainly than pretend it costs nothing. The team works from home across about 80 towns and cities, most with a second internet connection, and outages are made up the same day. Daily stand-up, your chat tools, written processes.

Daylight saving starts in NSW, Victoria, SA, Tasmania and the ACT on Sunday 4 October, four days after launch. The wording above reads right on both sides of that date. If the page carries an hours table, it needs both the AEST and AEDT rows.

"They'll leave in six months."

As with any role, some do leave sooner than expected. When it happens we recruit the replacement for you, free inside the first 180 days, and it typically takes 27 days to find and onboard a suitable replacement. Where a client has told us early, the replacement has often started before the outgoing person has left. As part of our monthly fee, we document their real-world tasks to make role-continuity a part of our service.

What will my market think?

"If my clients find out they'll think we're cutting corners."

Your clients buy your judgment and your service. They aren't auditing your admin management. Most of our clients tell theirs openly, because "our senior people can spend more of their time on you" is a better story than a secret. Part of the call is deciding what you'd say and when.

"You're sending Australian jobs offshore."

You're taking 10 to 15 hours of admin off a person you want to keep, and giving them their week back. The local role gets better. If what you actually want is to cut local headcount, that's a different conversation and we'll tell you we're not the right fit.

"Is it ethical? Are they paid properly?"

Salaries pass through at cost with no markup, so you see exactly what your team member is paid. That includes 13th-month pay, SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG. Fifteen days' leave, long-service leave, and they work from home. We publish a modern slavery policy, and it's linked below.

Maxicare health cover is not listed here for AU seats until it's confirmed as included. If it is, add "and Maxicare health cover" after Pag-IBIG.

"Our client data offshore? No chance."

Fair. Here is what actually applies. Confidentiality sits in every employment contract, data-protection training is part of induction, virtual desktops are available, screen-monitoring software is standard, and we agree a security plan for your specific role at handover. Behind all of it is the Philippine Data Privacy Act 2012, which carries criminal liability. We don't hold ISO 27001 and we won't imply we do. It's a project, not a claim.

This version makes no claim about the Australian Privacy Act. Once our DPA and privacy guide have been read against APP 8 (overseas disclosure) and APP 11 (security), add as the second sentence: "We meet the Australian Privacy Principles that apply to sending personal information offshore, and there's a guide that sets out how." Not before.

What will my own team think?

"My team will think they're next."

They will if they hear it second-hand. Tell them early: nobody's job is going offshore, the admin is. We provide guidance on the order to tell people in and the sentence that matters. Whether you use it is up to you.

"What actually changes for the people I employ?"

The person stays. The admin goes. Most people are relieved - they get their week back for the work they're good at, instead of squeezing it in around everything else.

"Someone has to manage them and it'll be me."

Payroll, HR, compliance, attendance tracking and monthly performance check-ins are done for you. That's what the AU$549 a month is. What you give is what you'd give any new hire in week one: what good looks like. After that you're managing outputs, the same as you do now.

"Our processes aren't documented well enough."

Almost nobody's are. Documenting the tasks you hand over is part of onboarding, and for most owners it's the first time they've seen how the work actually flows through the business.

What does it cost, and what's my risk?

"There'll be hidden fees."

Three numbers, and you can see all of them on this page before you talk to us:

  • salary at cost

  • AU$549 + GST a month

  • AU$1,799 + GST once.

One role worked line by line is below, with what isn't included.

"What am I locked into?"

Nothing. No minimum term. One week's notice in your first six months, two weeks to twelve months, four weeks after that. Your team member's salary only changes with your approval, and our fee changes on three months' notice.

"Every outsourcer claims 60 to 70 per cent savings."

We don't. What we publish instead is a rate: less than AU$15 an hour, including all fees, for the most common support roles in marketing, finance, accounts, admin, customer service and sales. Salaried rather than an ad-hoc hourly rate.

Two numbers, and we don't add them together: what you save on the work that our professionals do, and what your senior people do with the hours they get back.

"Most offshore relationships fail."

211 people placed with 71 businesses since 2019, and 44% of those businesses came back for a second person. When a placement does end, it typically takes 27 days to get the replacement in the seat.

"We're too small."

Your current headcount is only a rough guide. The real test is whether a mid or senior person, and that includes you, is losing five or more hours a week to admin, data entry or chasing. If someone is, there's enough work to move. If nobody is, it usually doesn't stack up and we'll say so on the call.

"Why not just use AI?"

AI removes a good proportion of this work, and someone still has to run it, check what it produced and connect it to your systems. Everyone we place is AI Certified before day one, tested on communication, problem solving, basic agents, privacy and model choice, transcription and content. You decide which models they're allowed to use. Working out what to automate, what to move to an Admin Professional and what stays local is what the 30 minutes is for.

What happens in the call

The initial fit and questions call runs about 30 minutes, on a screen share with one of us, working through your own numbers.

01. Where the time goes.

We take one person, usually the one everything routes through, and split their week into keep, automate and hand off.

02. Your number, tested.

We check what the calculator told you against how your business actually runs.

03. Your questions, answered for your business.

Including the ones above, confidentially. What's said in the call stays in the call.

04. Fit.

Whether this stacks up for you, and if it does, what the first step looks like.

You leave with a one-page view either way. If it doesn't stack up we'll say so.

Who you'd be talking to.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an Outrun Admin Professional?

An Outrun employee in the Philippines who takes the admin, data entry and chasing off a mid or senior person in your team, so that person gets their week back for the work that needs them.

What does an Admin Professional cost?

Three lines: their salary at cost, AU$549 + GST a month, and AU$1,799 + GST once for recruitment. For admin roles up to ₱60,000 a month that comes to under AU$15 an hour, fully loaded.*

What am I locked into?

Nothing. No minimum term. One week's notice in your first six months, two weeks to twelve months, four weeks after that.

What if it doesn't work out?

Inside the first 180 days we recruit the replacement free, for any reason. It typically takes 27 days from your approval to the new person's first day.

Who employs them?

We do. They're on Outrun's payroll with Outrun's HR team behind them. There's no agency between you and your team member.

Do I choose the person?

Yes. You shortlist from the candidates we pre-screen, and you interview before anyone is offered a role.

How are they vetted?

Eight steps: CV screen, pre-screening assessment, your shortlist, an HR interview, a technical test where the role needs one, your interview, reference checks, and pre-employment requirements including AI Certification.

How long until someone starts?

It typically takes five and a half weeks from the day you approve the recruitment to their first day, and 25 days to a signed offer. The range is 15 to 98 days, and the long ones are usually waiting on the client.

What's in the AU$549 a month?

HR, payroll, compliance, attendance tracking, monthly performance check-ins, a Customer Success Manager, IT and HR helpdesk, and free replacement recruitment inside 180 days.

What isn't included?

Equipment (they use their own), night-shift loading, and the role-specific training you'd give any new hire.

Why don't you publish a savings percentage?

Because it depends on the role. We publish a rate instead: under AU$15 an hour for the most common support roles.

What is 13th-month pay?

A legal entitlement in the Philippines - one extra month's basic salary a year, paid by law. It's included in the salary-at-cost figure.

How do I pay?

Monthly in advance on seven-day terms. One invoice covering the salary at cost and the AU$549.

Is our data safe offshore?

Confidentiality sits in every employment contract, and we agree a security plan for your role at handover. Virtual desktops and screen monitoring are standard. Behind it is the Philippine Data Privacy Act 2012. We don't hold ISO 27001.

Are they paid fairly?

Salaries pass through at cost with no markup, so you see what they're paid. That includes 13th-month pay, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig and Maxicare health cover, and 15 days' leave. Our modern slavery statement is public.

What happens to my current team?

They stay. The admin goes. We give you the order to tell people in and the words that matter, and you choose whether to use them.

Who manages them day to day?

You manage their outputs, the same as any team member. HR, payroll, compliance and the monthly check-ins are ours.

What hours do they work?

Standard shifts cover 6.30am to 7.30pm in Sydney and Melbourne during daylight saving (5.30am to 6.30pm from April), 5.30am to 6.30pm in Brisbane all year, half an hour earlier in Adelaide, and Perth is on Manila time. Full Sydney-hours cover in summer means a 5am start in Manila.

Where do they work from?

From home, across about 80 towns and cities in the Philippines. Most have a second internet connection and any outage is made up the same day.

Can they take calls from my customers?

Yes. We match the right person to the requirements of the role, including taking customer calls.

What is Outrun AI Certification?

Every person is tested before day one on communication, problem solving, basic agents, privacy and model choice, transcription and content. You decide which models they're allowed to use.

Can I hire more than one?

Yes. 44% of our clients have (31 of 71).

Do you work with New Zealand businesses?

Yes. Most of our clients are in New Zealand, on the same team and the same terms, invoiced in NZ$.

Can I hire someone part-time?

Yes. Most clients set 15 hours a week as the minimum. The AU$549 management fee is the same at 15 hours or 38, so it usually pays to give a part-time person the ad hoc admin as well and use the hours you're paying for.

What happens when they're sick or on leave?

If you have one Outrun team member, we tell you ahead of time whenever we can so you can plan around it and hand off anything urgent. If you have two or more, they're cross-trained on each other's work and cover for each other.

Which public holidays do they take?

Yours, theirs, or a mix - you decide which holidays your team observes. They're employed under Philippine labour law, so if you ask someone to work on a Philippine regular holiday, the holiday premium set by that law is paid and passes through at cost like the rest of their salary.

What if the person resigns and I don't want a replacement?

You can drop the seat within 14 days at no charge.

What's an initial fit and questions call?

The initial call is only 30 minutes and decides whether Outrun is the right fit for you and your needs. Any questions that you have are answered here also, with no obligation to continue further.

Do I have to commit to anything after the call?

No. You leave with a one-page view either way. If it doesn't stack up, we say so.

Does the calculator store what I type in?

No. Nothing is kept unless you ask for the emailed breakdown, and then only your email address and your result.

Can I talk to one of your clients?

Yes. We have referees by industry - manufacturing and professional services today. Ask on the call.

Book an initial fit and questions call.

Thirty minutes, no obligation, no deck. You'll be talking to Tom, and you'll leave with a one-page view of where your team's capacity is going either way.
