Outrun was born from a challenge we faced ourselves.

Long before we helped other organisations create capacity through offshore staffing, automation and process improvement, we were solving the same problem within our own business.

The story behind Outrun

From necessity to opportunity

In 2015, Zeald faced a challenge familiar to many growing businesses: increasing competition, rising costs, and the need to deliver more without continually adding headcount.

The leadership team recognised that not all work required local expertise. They began exploring a different operating model - one that combined New Zealand leadership with dedicated offshore specialists, tailored processes, and the right technology.

It was a bold decision, and far from easy. What was expected to take 12–24 months ultimately took closer to five years to fully establish. But by investing in dedicated offshore teams, refining workflows, and rethinking how work was allocated, Zeald created a more efficient and scalable way of operating.

What started with a small team in the Philippines grew into a highly skilled operation supporting service delivery, development, research and innovation.
